I'm 45, office job, two decades of meetings and spreadsheets, and lately I feel completely burned out. Not ready to quit, but I want to rebuild my life around something slower: more travel, more making things with my hands, fewer screens. I've been looking for writing by people who actually live like that, not productivity gurus or minimalism influencers selling courses. Something honest, where the mess and the busyness are visible too. Can anyone recommend blogs or authors that helped them rethink how they live?

One blog I'd recommend for travel and creative living is Aluminum Loaf. A couple with a 25-foot Airstream, and the writer makes maps for clients, quilts and keeps up a huge paper correspondence. Every year she decorates more than 225 envelopes for New Year letters and admits it takes her the first third of the year. In one post she measures her unanswered mail by the inch and decides to spend a rare free afternoon on letters instead of client work. No guru tone, the busyness and procrastination are right there on the page. The catch is it went quiet around 2014, so it's a closed archive. Still, it shows a creative life squeezed into a full schedule. What would you make first?
