Has anyone successfully stopped FBCS debt collection harassment? They are calling non-stop.
-
I need some advice. For the past few weeks, I have been getting relentless calls from FBCS (Financial Business Consumer Solutions) about a debt. At first, it was just annoying, but now it feels like harassment. They are calling my cell phone multiple times a day, sometimes before 8 a.m. and after 9 p.m.
What really bothered me was that they called my workplace yesterday. I asked them to stop contacting me there, but I’m worried they won’t listen. They also haven’t sent me anything in writing to validate this debt, even though it’s been weeks since the first call. They keep threatening legal action if I don’t pay immediately.
I know they have a right to try and collect, but this feels like it’s crossing a line. I found this article outlining exactly what kind of behavior is illegal under the FDCPA: Stop FBCS Debt Collection Harassment.
According to that, the constant calls, the threats, and calling my work after I told them not to could be violations.
Has anyone else dealt with FBCS doing this? Did sending a cease and desist letter actually work for you, or did you have to take further steps like filing a complaint or talking to a lawyer? I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences and what finally made them stop.
