Which ad formats work best for fintech ads?
-
I’ve been messing around with fintech ads for a while now, and honestly, this question kept bugging me more than I expected. At first, I assumed it was just about having a good offer or landing page, but turns out the ad format itself makes a bigger difference than I thought.
One of the biggest struggles I had early on was figuring out where to even start. There are so many options like banners, native ads, push notifications, search ads, and more. I kept jumping between them, hoping something would just “click,” but most of my early campaigns either had low clicks or decent clicks with zero conversions.
After a bit of trial and error, I started noticing some patterns. For me, native ads seemed to work better than traditional banners. I think it’s because they blend in more naturally with content, especially for finance-related stuff where people are already reading or researching. Banners felt too easy to ignore unless the design was really sharp.
Push ads were another surprise. I didn’t expect much from them, but they actually brought in decent traffic when I kept the message simple and direct. The trick, at least from what I saw, was not overcomplicating things. Fintech topics can already feel heavy, so short and clear messaging worked better.
Search ads also did okay, especially when targeting people who were already looking for something specific like loans or investment tools. The intent there is strong, so even if the volume is lower, the quality felt better.
What didn’t work great for me was going too broad with display ads. I spent a chunk of budget there and didn’t get much back. Maybe it works for branding, but for direct results, I didn’t see much impact.
If you’re still figuring things out, I’d say don’t rely on just one format. Test at least two or three and give them enough time to collect real data. I came across this page on fintech ads that helped me understand different approaches a bit better, especially when I was stuck choosing formats.
In the end, I don’t think there’s a single “best” format. It really depends on your audience and how you present the offer. But from my experience, native and push ads are a solid starting point, with search ads if you have the right keywords.
