Do houses that sell below 300K remain in the U.S?

Admittedly, there is a lot of houses available in the U.S. at a price below 300K, but it takes critical expectations and intelligent research to find them. Although it is true that the prices of houses have increased drastically in the last few years, the notion of affordability has not disappeared completely, it has just moved with the geography. The big cities of the coast such as San Francisco, New York, or Los Angeles can be beyond this budget, but most inland and mid-sized cities can be quite legitimate.
Affordability remains at the lead in the Midwest and the Southern states. Ohio, Michigan, Missouri, Indiana, Alabama, and Oklahoma are also known to list single-family homes, townhouses and condos way under the 300,000 price range. The buyers in even such states as Texas, Florida, and North Carolina can afford to purchase suburban and smaller metro houses instead of city centers.
The other factor causing the existence of homes below 300K is the variety in housing. All buyers do not require a new high-end house. Homes, townhouses, condos, fixers-uppers, and old houses tend to have a lower price but might be extremely worthwhile. Some of these houses are in good structural conditions and do not demand significant upgrades except cosmetic which makes them appealing to both first time buyers and investors.
