Want something massive and futuristic for my tattoo
-
Been seriously thinking about getting a tattoo lately and I know exactly what I don't want, something small and forgettable that blends in with everything else. Want something that actually makes people stop and look, futuristic, sci-fi, something with real scale to it. Not trying to go full Yakuza with an entire back piece, but an arm or leg sleeve with something genuinely impressive on it sounds like the direction I want to go. Anyone got ideas worth considering for something along those lines?

Sleeve work on an arm or leg is where you can really go to town with a concept that has room to breathe. Cyberpunk cityscapes wrapping around a forearm look incredible when done by the right artist, all neon, architecture and detail that rewards a closer look. Space themed pieces with planets, nebulae and cosmic geometry translate really well to a leg sleeve because the long canvas lets the composition flow naturally from one element to the next. Either direction gives you something with genuine visual impact without needing to commit to covering your entire back.

There's one style that fits exactly what you're describing better than most and doesn't get talked about as much as it should. Biomechanic tattoos make the skin look like it's been pulled back to reveal mechanical parts, circuitry or sci-fi structures underneath, the kind of thing that genuinely stops people in their tracks. Worth reading up on the style and looking through some examples here: https://rinattattarin.com/blog/tpost/how-to-find-a-biomechanical-style-tattoo-artist-in-los-angeles . Once you see what's possible with that style on an arm or leg the decision tends to make itself pretty quickly.
