What makes a simple apparel product worth adding to an online store?

I've been thinking about how online stores decide which everyday products are worth adding to their catalogs. It seems like simple products can sometimes be easier to sell than something overly complicated, especially when the item has a broad audience and is easy to understand from a product page.
For example, something as straightforward as a Menβs Black Hoodie could appeal to people looking for casual wear, but from an eCommerce perspective, there are still plenty of things to consider: product photos, sizing information, pricing, descriptions, reviews, and how the item is presented compared with similar products.
For those here who run or work with online stores, what usually determines whether you add a basic product like this to your catalog? Do you look more at search demand, margins, ease of fulfillment, customer reviews, or how well the product fits with the rest of the store?
