The 80g exemption is part of the Indian income tax act that enables taxpayers to make tax exemptions for contributions to recognized non-governmental organizations and charities. Depending on qualification, there will be 50 percent and 100 percent reliefs which promote compliance, increase transparency and encourage charity contribution participation.
