Asset digitization generally means converting information or records about an asset into digital form. Tokenization goes further by creating blockchain-based tokens that represent defined rights or interests connected to an asset. Those rights could involve ownership, debt, income, or another contractual claim. Therefore, simply placing property information into a digital database is not the same as tokenizing the asset. RWA tokenization requires a connection between the digital token, legal rights, and underlying asset.
