Okay so I've been hunting for a used 540i for about two months now, and last week I finally thought I hit the jackpot. A 2018 model in Portimao Blue, low mileage, service book stamped, and the seller seemed like a genuine enthusiast. We agreed on a price and I was literally planning to transfer the cash the next morning. But something told me to sleep on it, and I remembered how many people on here talk about cooling system failures and oil filter housing cracks on B58 engines. I reached out to some bmw car inspection experts dubai and had them check the car the following day. Turns out the "full service history" was missing two major services, the coolant was low with no visible leak (which they said could be a sign of a small head gasket issue starting), and the front struts were weeping oil. The seller got super defensive when I brought up the report and suddenly stopped replying. Honestly I'm disappointed because the car looked perfect, but I'd rather be out a few hundred for the inspection than stuck with a ten thousand dirham repair bill. Just wanted to remind everyone here to never trust a pretty exterior and a smooth talker. Get the damn inspection.
